To establish a community-wide vision for the future of Capay Valley, and to facilitate an on-going collaborative process for planning.

Capay Valley Vision was created to enhance ongoing communication within the diverse community of the Capay Valley, reflecting all opinions and searching for common ground on the vision for the Valley's future. Recognizing that change is inevitable, the organization will work to manage and guide change in a way that best preserves the Valley's rural character, agriculture, history and natural environment, while supporting a vital local economy.

The purposes for which Capay Valley Vision is organized are to:

• Preserve our heritage and sense of place;
• Strengthen our personal relationships;
• Preserve the rural character of the Valley;
• Preserve farmlands, rangelands and wildlands;
• Develop a viable economic strategy;
• Protect natural resources; and
• Enhance community health and well-being for citizens of the Valley.

If you are interested in getting involved you can contact us or attend any of the task force meetings announced in the Valley Voice and on our webpage. Reflecting the community's vision for the future, task forces have formed to address concerns and increase communication and cooperation among residents and stakeholders in the region. The five current task forces are:

• Agriculture and Environment
• Economic Development
• Housing
• Recreation
• Transportation

All task force meetings are open to the public. Task force chairs (or co-chairs) are also Board members of Capay Valley Vision (CVV), which meets regularly to share task force activities and to strategize ways to connect the some times disparate activities of each group.
